Kayla Pruski was born in Corpus Christi, moved to Louisville, KY and then on to a small town in southern Pennsylvania, before returning to Boerne, TX for high school. Dr. Patterson decided at 5 years old that she wanted to become a veterinarian and that she would be attending Texas A&M University for both undergrad and veterinary school, and maintained those dreams with each move. In August 2008 she started at A&M with a degree in Animal Science, with which she graduated in May 2012. Dr. Patterson started vet school in August 2012 and graduated May 11 with her DVM. She has a 10 year old Boxer named Gracie, a 5 year old miniature pig named Bacon, and her brother's 6 year old Boxer, Dudley, who she has cared for since he was a puppy.
