Hope For Small Farm Sustainability Updated:08/2023

Together with Kate McSwain, couple Saul and Diana Padilla established the program HOPE for Small Farm Sustainability, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization ?that seeks to provide training and education to low-income and disadvantaged families, small-scale farmers, and individuals interested in growing, preparing and selling their own organic food for self-sustainability?. A major goal is to spread knowledge of and passion for organic farming and healthy eating to the residents of the Rio Grande Valley.Farmers who have undergone training with HOPE have a ready-market for their produce at the farmers market also established by the HOPE team. At the HOPE Farmer?s Market, one finds only 100% certified organic produce from a variety of vendors.
