Dr. Mike Thomas began working in veterinary medicine somewhat by chance two decades ago at the age of sixteen after getting a part time job as a kennel helper at a veterinary clinic near his home in La Porte, TX. At the time, his goals included a career in computer science or management information systems. Fortunately for him, it became clear very soon after beginning working with animals that he had an aptitude for it. Thanks to early veterinary mentors who took the time to teach young Mike Thomas about leadership, compassion, and the art and science of medicine, his goals quickly shifted toward becoming a veterinarian.
