Texas Land Conservation Assistance Network

The Dis­trict op­er­ates with the mis­sion of im­ple­ment­ing an ef­fi­cient, eco­nom­ic­al, and en­vir­on­ment­ally sound ground­wa­ter man­age­ment pro­gram to pro­tect and en­hance the wa­ter re­sources of the aquifers with­in the Dis­trict. The Dis­trict re­gisters all wa­ter wells, con­siders ap­plic­a­tions for drilling and op­er­at­ing per­mits, and reg­u­lates pro­duc­tion from non-ex­empt wells. The Dis­trict also mon­it­ors aquifer levels, of­fers wa­ter con­ser­va­tion edu­ca­tion out­reach to the schools, and en­cour­ages wa­ter con­ser­va­tion to the pub­lic.
