The Old Gruene Market Days has been running for over 30 years now. It attempts to relive the traditional Texas trade days when the community gathers at the center of town to ?trade? their wares. Market days are on the 3rd weekend of each month from February to December, and more than 100 artisans descend to Greune Historic District to sell handmade and handcrafted items. There are packaged food and spice vendors as well. Most are woodworkers, jewelry makers, and other artists working on different types of media. Fiber, metal, leather, glass, stone, wood, and more -- these come to life in one-of-a-kind works of art.The emphasis for these market days is original, handmade works done by the artist/exhibitor. The market organizers do not allow mass-produced, machine made, imported, bought on wholesale, or collectible items. Applications for food concessions are also not accepted.
